Cyclopentenylcytosine-5'-triphosphate is the active metabolite of Cyclopentenylcytosine (C989800); a nucleoside analog which exhibits antineoplastic activity against several murine and human tumors in tissue culture. Cyclopentenylcytosine-5'-triphosphate is also an inhibitor of cytidine-5'-triphosphate (CTP) synthetase causing a rapid depletion of intracellular cytidine nucleotides.
