1-Methoxy-2-propanol is used as a reagent in the synthesis of 2-amino-3-carboxy-4-phenylthiophenes as novel atypical protein kinase C inhibitors. Also used as a reagent in the synthesis of Metolachlor (M338700); a selective pre-emergence herbicide.
