3-Bromopropionitrile acts as a reagent in the preparation of bisindole maleimide derivative useful as α-glucosidase inhibitors for the treatment of diabetesis. Also used in the study of the structure activity relations between alkyl nucleophilic chemicals causing duodenal ulcer and adrenocortical necrosis.
