2-[[2-(2,2,2-Trifluoroethoxy)phenoxy]methyl]-1,3-dioxolane is an intermediate in the synthesis of N-2-[2-(2,2,2-Trifluoroethoxy)phenoxy]ethylsilodosin (T790140), which is an impurity in the synthesis of Silodosin (S465000), an α1a-adrenoceptor antagonist. It is used in treatment of benign prostatic hypertophy.
