N,N'-(Ethane-1,2-diyl)bis(N-(2-benzamidoethyl)benzamide) is used in studies of radiation chemistry, photochemistry, photographic chemistry, and reprographic chemistry. For example a study showed two-colour thermal recording materials to give stable images, contained 2 colour-forming layers producing different colours when absorbing different heat energy. N,N'-(Ethane-1,2-diyl)bis(N-(2-benzamidoethyl)benzamide) was a color-erasing compound applied on one of the layers.
