4-Hydroxyphthalic Acid is used as a reagent in the synthesis of diester-substituted aminocyclopropanes which are used in (3+2)-annulation reactions. It may also be used in the synthesis of 2-Substituted Phthalimides in one step proving to be fast, convenient and economical. 4-Hydroxyphthalic Acid may be found in soil humus.
