Trimethyl(pentafluoroethyl)silane is used to synthesize potent, substituted carbazoles as selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs). It is also used in the synthesis of trifluoromethyl cyclohexyl, cyclohexenyl and aryl compounds via stepwise Robinson annulation.
